About us

 

Benny Helms has served as Pastor of New Life Baptist Church since November 2014.  He was a member of New Life Baptist Church for 6 years while doing evangelist work full time with tent work with Old Fashioned Tent Ministry. The fruit was given by the Lord of 300 souls during that time. All the glory goes to God for that work. Pastor Helms was raised in Monroe North Carolina, where he accepted Christ as his Saviorat the age of 29 in 1977 just after his service in the Unitied States Army of three years. He surrendered his life to the Gospel ministry 3 years later.  He attended Fresh Waters Bible Institute in Mineral Springs, North Carolina and has a Bachelor degree from Gospel Schools Of The Bible.

 

   Prior to accepting the pastorate of our church, Pastor Helms served churches in Stallings, North Carolina and Ruby, South Carolina.  He has been in full time ministry since 1980.

 

   Pastor Helms and his wife Cheryl, are the parents of three daughters, Beverly, Marie and Bonnie two boys Jerry and Timothy.  Pastor and Mrs. Helms have six grandchildren.
